Adult Competition Results.

We did not receive entries in the same numbers as the Under 13 competition but the quality was generally very good.

Under 25
First prize (and only entry) – Martin Dale of Pulborough, Sussex writing about the Greenfield family in the Royal Sussex Regiment.
Despite being the only entry this was well deserving the first prize.

SFHG Members writing about mainly non-Sussex families
First prize – Gwen Connolly of Banksia Beach, Queensland, Australia on the Wood family from Lewes to Australia.
Second prize - Fiona Barnes of Ballynahinch, County Down, Northern Ireland on the Bassett family of Kent.

SFHG Members writing about Sussex families
Most entries were in this category so two extra third prizes have been awarded.
First prize – David O’Dell of Worthing, West Sussex, the Elphick and Hammond families.
Second prize – John Paterson of Barnstaple, Devon, the Allwork family.
Third prizes – Brenda Joyce of Wellington, New Zealand, the Burgess family of New Inn, Seaford.
Shirley Jane Bond of Yarm, North Yorkshire, the Quinn and Gray and Sangster family.
Christine Jackson of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the Dudman and Durrant family.

Non-members writing about Sussex families
There were only three entries all good.
First prize – Patricia Junkin of Culleoka, Tennessee, USA on the Bysshe family of Worth.
Second prize – Linda Wayman of Cambridge, the Wren family.
Third prize – Joan Quarry of Ferring, West Sussex, the Elphick and Leggatt families.

The judges and the organizer would like to thank all those who entered.

The family histories will join those that have already been donated to the SFHG Library at The Keep.
Most of them are too large to appear in the Sussex Family Historian in full.
